Control systems manufacturer Lyngaa Marine acquired by BSI Marine Equipment Group

The BSI Marine Equipment Group has acquired Danish control systems company Lyngaa Marine.
Lyngaa Marine, based in Birkerød, is a maritime technology company that creates alarm and control systems, ranging from simple override systems for a small fishing vessel to more complex control systems for the maritime industry. Systems include propulsion control, rudder control, power management and dynamic positioning, which are supplied to fish transport vessels, crew transfer vessels, ferries, fishing vessels, research vessels, and the largest SAR boat to date for the Norwegian rescue organisation.
Founded in 2008 by ship engineer and former naval officer Per Christiansen, the company moved into manufacturing propulsion control systems, with the first system delivered in 2013.
It also supplies watermakers from Parker and maritime electronics from Maretron.
Per Christiansen will remain as General Manager of Lyngaa Marine. He said:
“Today Lyngaa Marine can deliver all types of automation for a ship’s engine room and propulsion. I look forward to continuing the business in the same spirit as we always have done, and I am pleased to have gained new colleagues and new inspiration in the form of the BSI Marine Equipment Group.”
The BSI Marine Equipment Group designs and manufactures specialist equipment for cruising, racing, and superyachts. With premises across Denmark, the UK, USA and France, it supplies rigging, propellers, steering systems, blocks, hatches, bowthrusters and surface ship instrument deployment for the marine industry, including leisure, superyachts, commercial workboat, and naval sectors.
Brands within the BSI Marine Equipment Group are BSI A/S, Gori Propeller A/S, Hundested Propeller A/S, Jefa Steering A/S, Moonlight A/S, OYS Ltd and Ocean Marine Systems (OMS) Ltd.
Mark Barwell, Chief Commercial Officer for the BSI Marine Equipment Group, commented:
“The Group has worked closely with Lyngaa Marine for several years using their excellent controls in both Hundested and Ocean Marine Systems (OMS) propulsion and thruster deliveries. Their technical knowledge and experience are second to none, and I am excited to see them join the BSI Marine Equipment Group.”
